Terms And Conditions of Hire
You will receive an email as a receipt for your hire, detailing the return date and containing a link to a copy of these terms and conditions. Please add firstname.lastname@example.org and email@example.com to your safe senders list to ensure you get reminders. The second email can be used to contact the librarian at any time.
Hires should be returned to a sling/cloth nappy library session, via the drop boxes in Newon-le-Willows and Platt Bridge or via post. If items are posted it must be sent in order that it has a reasonable chance of arriving before the due date. For details on how to return via the drop box or via post please email firstname.lastname@example.org
Upcoming library session dates for return can be found on facebook here https://www.facebook.com/WaWiSHSlingMeet/events (click subscribe to be automatically notified of new ones) or on the website via this tag: https://www.wawishslinglibrary.co.uk/calendar/ Library sessions are held each week during term time, and monthly (barring August) at each venue. It is your responsibility to ensure you can return the carrier to a session. If you cannot return to a library session you can post back via recorded or special delivery. Please only agree to these terms and conditions if you know you are able to return or rehire on time.
Information on how to rehire can be found here: https://www.wawishslinglibrary.co.uk/information/rehire-or-overdue/
Sling hire costs £5 per week, or £45 for three months. Stretchy wraps and close caboos can be hired on a discounted rate of £30 for three months. Long term (three month block) hire cannot be applied retrospectively.
Please return the carrier in a clean condition with no pet hairs (so that it can potentially be hired back out straight away). If possible spot clean with plain water to lengthen the life of the carrier but if that’s not possible please follow these instructions:
1. Machine wash separately on max. 30 degrees with any buckles done up and any rings covered by a baby sock secured with a bobble.
2. Use a small amount (quarter cap) of ‘a non-bio delicate liquid with no optical brighteners’ if possible. Otherwise use a small amount (powder 20ml, liquid quarter cap) of whatever you use to wash a baby’s clothes. Rinse well.
3. Please DO NOT use softener/fabric conditioner as it can damage the fabrics.
4. Dry on the line or on an airer away from direct sources of heat.
Cloth Nappy Hires cost £10 per 4 weeks to hire.
Folow the washing instrucitons here for nappies: https://www.thenappylady.co.uk/news/washing-drying-nappies.html Nappies must be returned clean and in good conditions, please report any stains on return.
Hired items should be cared for and inspected for damage before each use. Please contact the librarian immediately if you discover any damage. You may be billed for any damage above and beyond reasonable wear and tear, and the librarian reserves the right to bill users retrospectively for damage occurred during hires. At any time during the hire the library may request that you bring the carrier to us to check for wear and tear damage. This is only likely to happen in the cases of repeated rehires.
Do not allow pets near any hired items. Please do not smoke while using them and hire items should remain in a smoke free environment. If your child has any communicable illness whilst the hired items are in your possession please contact the librarian before return.
The T.I.C.K.S. Infographic is available to take home and will be sent as a link in your confirmation email. This is important for all sling users but is particularly important for very small babies. Please follow it each time you use your sling/carrier. Users are responsible for ensuring they follow the instructions for use provided, both manufacturer instructions and consultant/peer supporter instructions. The library cannot be held accountable for any failure to do so.
You will receive an email reminder FIVE days before your hire is due back from email@example.com. Rehires can be made electronically or at a library sessions, details of library sessions and how to rehire are contained in your reminder email. There is no current limit to how many times you can rehire, but each hire agreement can only last a maximum of three months.
If you do not return or renew your hire before the agreed end date you hire will become overdue. You will then be subject to the following charges: £5 per week for the duration of the time you’ve had thehire past the due date and £5 per week (or £10 per 4 weeks for nappies) for any time you wish to have it beyond that, plus a late fee to process a return or rehire. £5 for hire overdue by up to two weeks. £10 for hires overdue by two weeks or more. If you do not pay the fees of your own accord we will request payment via paypal. The charges will be waived in the following circumstances: The hired item is returned to a sling library session within five days of the overdue date (the charge will NOT be waived an overdue hired item is returned by other means.). If there has been a clerical error made by the sling/cloth nappy library or the sling/cloth nappy library has not yet processed a payment you have made. And in expectional circumstances.
If you decide to purchase a sling or nappies and need help finding them please contact the librarian.
During the hire agreement period you can swap a sling hire an unlimited number of times, swaps must be done at a library session and are subject to availability. If you have a stretchy wrap or close caboo on long term hire you can only swap within the available stretchy wraps or close caboos. If you wish to return early you are not eligible for a refund.
All slings/carriers/nappies remain the property of WaWiSH Sling And Cloth Nappy Library during the life of the hire, consequently should the hirer fail to return or rehire their item(s) after a significant time frame then the hirer will be billed for overdue admin fees, hire fees, the full retail value of the carrier and an additional admin fee (£20). Failure to communicate and/or pay will be escalated and treated as theft through the small claims court. This may result in a County Court Judgement (CCJ) against you which will affect your ability to get credit.
